About Mushin Jujitsu

We train every Friday evening from 7:30pm to 9:00pm

at the Sholing Community Centre, Butts Road, SO19 1BN.

What to Expect

Sessions are welcoming, well-structured, and designed to build your confidence and abilities week by week.

The benefits of training :

• Build your confidence

• Improve your fitness and stamina

• Teach practical self defence skills

• Help you handle pressure and stay
  calm in real situations

• Connect you with a great group of
  people who support each other

What to wear

New students can wear joggers and an old top – just no zips to avoid injury. If you decide to continue, we recommend getting a black Gi (training uniform), which we can help you source.

The cost

We appreciate you may be unsure whether Mushin Jujitsu is right for you so your first 2 sessions free – come and try before you commit.Monthly membership is just £25 per month thereafter

We are a not-for-profit club. Our instructors do not get paid – every penny goes back into the club to cover insurance, equipment, and venue costs.

Instructors

The Friday night club is led by Tony Stacey, a 3rd-degree black belt in Mushin Jujitsu and 4th-degree black belt in self defence. Tony is supported by other experienced practitioners and benefits from visits by Steve Barker, founder and chief instructor of Mushin Ju Jitsu.

  • Do I need any previous experience?
Not at all. We welcome complete beginners as well as those with previous martial arts experience.
  • What should I wear for my first class?
Just wear comfortable clothing without zips (like joggers and an old top). Once you’re ready to commit, we suggest getting a black Gi – we can help you source one if needed.
  • What kind of martial art is this?
Mushin Jujitsu is a blend of traditional Ju Jitsu and modern self defence. We train for real-life situations, not just competition.
